Debbie: If before 4 pm
With such a big free festival, coordination and owning a mobile phone will be really important . Gates open at 11 am so if there are people will to stake out some turf, that would be fantastic.
When is it?
Tropfest 2013 takes place on Sunday, Feb 17.
What does it cost?
Tropfest is a FREE event.
What time do I need to get there?
Get down early to score the best spot!
Gates open at 11am.
Trop Jr, our competition for filmmakers aged 15 and under kicks off at noon.
The main festival program will start at 6pm with red carpet arrivals and the films will start at approximately 7:30pm.
How do I get there?
Tropfest is conveniently located at The Domain in the heart of Sydney’s CBD and is easy to get to by either train or bus. The Domain Park is only a short stroll from either St James or Martin Place train station.
Is there food and drink available?
You can purchase food and drinks from our public bars and food tents.
What do I need to bring?
Here is our fail-safe checklist:
• picnic rug
• a plastic bag for your rubbish
• insect repellent
• a rug for once the sun goes down
• an umbrella/raincoat if the weather looks like taking a turn for the worst
• a picnic if you’re planning on self-catering!
Can I bring alcohol?
Tropfest works with Cake Wines, Kopparberg and 4 Pines Brewing Co. to bring you alcoholic refreshments on the day.
But please feel free to bring your own bottle of wine or a few beers if you prefer – please use plastic cups and drink responsibly.
Can I bring my furry friends?
You can bring your dog – but remember, this is a film event! Noisy pups or dogs that don’t like crowds are not a good idea. Please keep your fellow Trop-goers in mind – keep your canine under control and be sure to dispose of any ‘indiscretions’.
