Change in sponsorship - a little change in direction, and hopefully some new life into this Meetup Group! Expect some changes - and more opportunities to meet to watch and discuss films that matter!
Movies and Meaning began in October, 2007 to bring together people from various spiritual, religious, and philosophical perspectives. We share a common a love of meaningful movies and discussion.
The original impetus for the group was a desire to explore the spiritual themes in contemporary films. Our goal is to foster dialogue between various faith traditions, and spiritual values that may not be religious. We welcome and enjoy deep reflections of spiritual insights whatever their source or origin,.
Presently the group meets about once a month in the evening. We enjoy a movie together and then retreat to a pub, wine bar, or eating establishment for refreshments and conversation. Most often we frequent the independent, small theaters but stay open to other blockbuster films if they seem to promise good discussion around what we find most meaningful in our lives.
Join us if you love movies, enjoy people, and like to talk about what is important to you!
Past sponsors include Eastminster Presbyterian Church and then Parkrose Community United Church of Christ.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
