Dinner at Maharaja

In the past, I have asked people where they want to go after we finish the film.

This time I would like to try three new things.  1) Let's pick a place beforehand, so people who can't join us for the film (or simply prefer to watch another film) can meet us for dinner.  2) I'm posting the dinner as a separate event, open to all, whether they went to the movie or now.  3) If you have difficulty finding us at the restaurant, you can call my cell (608) 712-3754.  (For this last suggestion, I'd like to thank Anthea, the awesome organizer of Madison Geekery.)

What's close to Market square and good for dinner?  Personally, I am a broken record, always likely to suggest Indian, Thai, and Middle Eastern (which includes at least four or five nearby restaurants that are good).  What do y'all think?

Yes, stretching my comfort zones definitely paid off this time. My chicken whatever was wonderful. Good food, good company, what more could you ask for.

Maharaja sounds like an Indian restaurant. I am up for something exotic and different. Not to mention good company, good conversation and fine cuisine.

After thinking about this, I realized I can't really do dinner - just the movie. My performance that was supposed to happen last month was cancelled because of that blizzard we had and now it's this Monday the 22nd so I shouldn't be out that late. But send me the details about the movie!

There's lots of talk about meal, but didn't see anything about movie. What is it?

Hello Jo, I posted the movie as a separate meetup, to let people know that they are free to join us for Django Unchained at 4:15 or join us for dinner around 6:45 or both.

I'm open to suggestions on a restaurant, I like food from all over, as well as great local food.

Which restaurant is it for average and some less-than-awesome meals for slightly above-average prices? La Mestiza is the only restaurant in Market square. They seemed ok to me but I haven't been there since a year ago.

Walking distance is always awesome. The only restaurant I know in walking distance has served me some average and some less-than-awesome meals for slightly above-average prices.

Keep it near movie? Walking distance would be nice. Ethnic never gets old for me.

Odana Road has a great selection of ethnic restaurants that I know you've all been to. No broken record when it comes to good food that everyone enjoys. Once you go off Odana Road, the options start becoming more limited--a point I became well aware of after working in University Research Park for a few years! You can go on Whitney Way where there is a couple of Mexican restaurants (Cancun and Loredo's), Takara Japanese Restaurant, and Vintage Brewing. In the other direction, you get chain restaurants surrounding West Towne Mall.
