12 Years a Slave

An unflinching tale of one man's unexpected journey into captivity.  Probably the most well-reviewed film playing in Madison.  Find us between the ticket counter and the popcorn counter, or call me at[masked] if you have trouble finding us.  After the show, we will pick a place for dinner.

Dan, the friend I mentioned to you, was able to reach, plans to be there, I planned to come later as we discussed but definitely come. Cell phone acting up, cannot send you a text but my apology for the late notice, am not be able to attend, after our conversation I unfortunately found matters not improving at all. What a disappointment.

Sorry, something came up so I can't attend. I look forward to hearing how it was.

When I have schedule conflicts Saturdays, I post movies on Sundays. No rule against people posting events on days that work better for them. :)

It's all good. Meetup is supposed to be a fun, social gathering, not an obligation or a drag. Whenever you can come, we'd all love to see you again and whenever you cannot come, we all have schedules to attend to, so everybody understands. There are only two cases when people are missing in action: 1) when they post an event and do not show up for it or send a substitute and 2) when they show up to greet people and leave during the film without telling anyone "I have to go". I don't know of any instance where either of these has occurred in this group, so I don't consider anyone missing in action, more like "we just missed you" :)

Just a thought...Marcus Movie Theaters are only charging $5 for movies every Tues. (even new ones and at night) and you get free popcorn, too! This deal lasts through December 31, 2013. Maybe Tuesdays might be another option for those of you who are Packer fans.

I would love to see this, but will be out of town for work. Would have loved to hear the conversation on this one!

Point Cinema has a restaurant/bar with one of the largest televisions I have seen. It's bigger than the screens that slide shows and filmstrips were shown on in grade school and barely smaller than some of the older movies screens used to be at the Strand or the Esquire.

Are you suggesting that we skip the movie and watch the Packer game? Oh goodness....Pick your jaw up off the floor; I was teasing...kind'a! =)

There's always the option of watching the game at the theater and then coming to dinner with us after the movie. The game and the movie might finish at close to the same time.

For one possible after-movie dining option, Minerva Indian Cuisine at 515 Junction Road is fantastic. It's only been open for about 3 weeks, and David and I ate there this past Sunday. It was delicious! The dinner menu is HUGE and offers dishes from many parts of India often not covered adequately at other Madison Indian dining establishments. There are even a few Chinese dishes on the menu too. Here's a recent write-up about Minerva from 77 Square: http://host.madison.com/entertainment/dining/restaurant-news-minerva-indian-cuisine-opening-on-far-west-side/article_124a869d-af51-52f6-b273-f87f633241de.html

Thank you, Dan, for hosting this. I will be there, and I believe David will have time to get there as well after the Chazen concert.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
