Rampart Ridge Loop/MRNP

Finally, one of the trails that is totally melted off. Although this isn't the most scenic trails at the Park, it is a loop, has no snow (as per ranger and website) and will be good to be back on the Mt.

Milegage:4.8 for the loop
Elevation gain: 1300'
Moderate hike

This loop begins at the Trail of The Shadows TH and continues clockwise from there. Going this direction gives one a better chance of seeing some views.

Directions: Enter Nisqually entrance to Mt. Rainier NP and drive and park in the Longmire parking lot.
If you are coming from Oly/Lacy area, you may want to meet us at Longmire parking lot.  Please just let me know so we can look for you/car. Thanks.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IF YOU RSVP YES, WE ASK THAT YOU READ THE INFO ON THE DISCUSSION PAGE TO PARTICIPATE.  THEN RESPOND THAT YOU HAVE READ THE GUIDELINES AND WILL ABIDE BY THEM.

As always, have your 10 essentials, cash for drivers, full tank of gas if driving, sense of humor and adventure.

We should be at Longmire parking lot by 8:30 the latest. Look for my blk, Subaru Forester. I will park behind the old museum.
What cars should I look for there?
