Comet Falls/Van Trump Park/Mildred Pt.

YES, I know it's early but this trail is VERY popular and the parking is limited. I have tried to get to Mildred Pt. 2 x but the driving rain and the snow got in the way. Hopefully, it will be a sunny day.  The falls are magnificent, at Van Trump, the mt. is so close that you can hear and see the cracking and sliding of the glacier and the view from Mildred is suppose to be breathtaking.

Mileage: approx 7miles RT

Elevation gain: approx. 2200'

Park Pass needed per car

I leave on time and don't wait so be at P&R approx. 10 min before departure.

Three awesome rewards packed into a day hike? Doesn't get any better than this! Thanks Casey for leading us to these spectacular views up on THE mountain. And to have a herd of about 35 mountain goats appear at Van Trump Park, WOW!

Whatta hike! Waterfalls, wildflowers galore, and an extended family of Mountain Goats, Gee-wiz! Thanks for putting this together Casey, and it was such a pleasure to meet all of you.

It was well worth the effort to make it to Van Trump/Mildred Pt. Got some great views, lots of wildflowers. The damage at the Comet falls area was a humbling statement of nature's power!!! No wonder that trail was closed all last season.

Hi all. I did this last weekend--fantastic hike and flowers are excellent! Just so you know, we calculated that this hike, even without going up high on the side trail into Van Trump proper, is approx. 3,000 ft. elevation gain. Then add in another 100 to 1,000 feet depending on where you go in Van Trump.
Not that this group can't handle it :)
    Just FYI.
