    zum Thema ax-12 servos: Alles ist anders!
    Schon die HW-Unterschiede zwischen beagleboard und arduino sind bedeutender, als ich zunächst dachte:

    Die UART des beagleboard hat evtl. keinen Tri-State, so dass man für
    das half-Duplex noch einen externen tristate-Treiber bräuchte. Noch wichtiger
    aber ist, dass das timing zum abschalten des TX optimalerweise
    eine spezielle Unterstützung der UART braucht. Ich zitiere aus dem
    ATmega datasheet:
    "The diabling of the transmitter will not become effective until ongoing and pending transmissions are completed, that is, when the Transmit Shift Register and Transmit Buffer Register do not contain data to be transmitted." Dadurch sind die timing-Anforderungen an den "Ausschalt-Befehl" beim arduino stark entspannt.

    Dafür hat das ... mist-message zu groß ...
