Servus ihr Buam und Madl, it´s time to visit one of the worlds largest fairs - the incredible Oktoberfest!!! It lasts only 2 weeks (including 3 weekends) and therefore the time is quite limited. Because of that we´ll meetup on the first Oktoberfest-monday Sept. 20th to check out whats going on on the 200th birthday of this festival (this year!!!).
The plan: The main intension is to walk around and experience the unique atmosphere, see all the different rides and might try one of the delicious Wiesn-Schmankerl ;-) ... after that we could try to get a beer. Read below, why it´s not thaaat easy.
Getting beer For some of us it´ll be the first time visiting the Oktoberfest. You have to know the the beer tents are often very (over-)crowded in the evening (especially on weekends) and it may happen that they are closed for new people. Thus, we have to see whether or not we can enter a tent this monday. Officially the waitresses are only allowed to serve beer to people when they have a seat. Some waitresses are not really strict, but having a seat is always better.
Cloth A looooot of people will wear the traditional bavarian outfit (Lederhosn or Dirndl) ... or the corresponding modern interpretation of it ;-) I will wear my Lederhosn .... and I appreciate others doing the same, hehehe!
How to meet As usual I will send out some details on "how-to-meet" in advance. We´ll meet at 6.30pm and it´ll be in close walking distance to the festival area - U-Bahn station Schwanthaler Höhe - since it´s not too crowded over there. Feel free to post comments or questions. Pfüati ... and see you soon, Till ;-) PS.: Click
here to find an excellent Oktoberfest-Update for you German-English-Bavarian vocabular ;-) ... and
here to find the "real" one =)

Splendid, 1910 is just better manageable than the rest. Do you carry a sign or something for getting you?

I´m talking about the ubahn station Schwanthalerhöhe (U4, U5) - it´s one station after Theresienwiese ;-) Click here to find it on the map: http://maps.google.de/maps?q=48.133665,11.544048&num=1&t=h&sll=48.139714,11.538803&sspn=0.014893,0.032015&ie=UTF8&ll=48.133666,11.544051&spn=0.002073,0.004823&z=18&iwloc=lyrftr:h,587432886812275697,48.133487,11.543831

I rather avoid the ubahn station Theresienwiese, since sososo many people will meet there and/or just walk thru =)

I'd love to come (though I have no Dirndl or Lederhosn), but won't make it in time. Is there any chance to find you guys later, cause I guess it's crowded, crowded crowded ...

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
