Let’s go to Burghausen. It’s a small town on the border to Austria with the worlds longest castle. The castle is more than 1km long!
I mainly plan to visit the castle, but we’ll probably have time to see the old town as well.
We'll meet at track 8 at the Hauptbahnhof and take the train there, it’s a journey of a bit more than 2 hours in each direction. I'll buy Bayern-tickets and we'll split the price. For the sake of ticket purchase, please be on time. From the Burghausen train station to the actual castle we'll either take the local bus line 1 (we can use the Bayern-ticket) or just walk the 1.3km, depending on how we feel at the time.
We'll find somewhere in the area to have lunch.
I plan to take the train home at 16:45 which will get us back in Munich at 18:56, but don’t make any plans based on this. We may take an earlier or later one depending on how things turn out. The trains home leave roughly every hour.
The price of the train tickets depends on how many we are to split it, but expect around 10 eur. The castle museum has an entrance fee of 4.5 eur.
I may cancel this if I deem the weather forecast to be sufficiently unfavourable.
