Make Friends Munich - try everything once!

About a month ago, I volunteered myself as organiser of "The Munich New AND Not so New In Town Meetup" group. The previous organiser stepped down only a few days after I joined - which I tried not to take too personally. I was disappointed though, that I never had the opportunity to attend any of the events or get to know any of you, so chose not to stand by and see a group with so much potential be zapped.
About me: my name is Tyler and I'm new in town. I moved to Munich about a month ago with my German girlfriend who found a job here. I'm originally from South Africa but spent the last four years living in the beautiful student city of Freiburg. Now I'm really excited to be in Munich and can't wait to explore and discover the city, meet people and more than anything, have some fun.
Some housekeeping: Our group is now called "Make Friends Munich" - it's less of a mouthful and will help people find us easier in search engines so I hope everyone is cool with that. I loved the welcoming philosophy of the group so rest assured that won't change!
My vision for "Make Friends Munich" is that we're a group that is open to trying things out. I'd like to avoid us being the kind of group that exclusively hangs out in Irish pubs or fancy snobby places for example. Variety is the spice of life so I'd love it if we could check out lots of different stuff together: Christmas markets, bars, clubs, theatre, festivals, beer gardens - I'm open to it all and the more the merrier. My thinking: it's less important where you are than the people you're with and with the right attitude you can always have a good time. So let's be the kind of group that tries everything once - and more if we like it! Also at 'Make Friends Munich' meet ups you will always be welcome to invite friends along.
Cheers Silke: for having sent a cool suggestion to meet up at one of Munich's Christmas markets. Great idea! (and thanks for getting me off my butt :) I was at the Tollwood festival a few days ago and it was fantastic so perhaps we could check out the Marienplatz Christmas market on Wednesday this week after work. I'll post a meet up event in the next 30 mins so be sure to check it out and come along if you can. Bring gloves, a woolly hat, thick socks and the "Gl?hwein" should take care of the rest. The market closes at 8.30pm so for those who are keen we could hit a local bar afterward.
I look forward to meeting you,
