Can I suggest in future a dinner out first, esp. for newcomers, then over to a bonfire? I can't stay out long, and was looking forward to the restaurant option. Not that Pete's doesn't sound fun.
Anybody up for doing a Sunday bruch meet-up of freethinkers and atheists soon? (in addition to Friday nights)? I'll organize if that'd help.

Sounds good to me, if not too early in the day.

Thank you Pete Roode for your pleasant hospitality. It was very nice of you to make us all feel welcome.

The only thing to make a 10 into a perfect 10 would have been a couple cans of OFF
2 · June 29, 2014

We are currently inside! Side door off driveway!
Oops, this appears to be a well established group. Intimidated, so please excuse my exit.
0 · June 25, 2014
I'm sorry we made you feel that way! There are always new people joining. I don't think I've been to one event where there wasn't a first timer there. :)
1 · June 26, 2014
Please join us! There are always new people at meet ups but if u r uncomfortable still come to the next welcome meeting! We would love to have you!
Looks like Aaron & I won't be there until close to 7 p.m., so save us a spot.
This group a kid-friendly event (ages 7-12)? My wife and I might be interested in coming if it is (no sitter)
There have been kids lots if time!

Hey gang - looks like we got everything resolved! Pete's house at 6 on Friday (215 Eastland - more details in this comment thread if you are GPS-free). I won't be there, but I will be home over the 4th. Keep an eye out for a spontaneous cookout over the holiday! Have fun - and thank you, Pete, for your hospitality!
So tonite is on at Pete's ?
I think it's Friday night
sorry Chuck - didn't mean to intimidatesounds like there's more demand for occasions to meet & drink & kibbitz than supply - maybe a restaurant oriented event soon?one of my long term ambitions is more opportunities to kibbitz & socialize so I mourn the idea that I intimidated another occasion out of existenceI have a strong preference for events with mobility - as with young male students don't like sitting in one place very long - love conversation browsingI'm also weight-conscious since I play ultimate fris with players less than half my age so try to avoid restaurant food & desertsfor tomorrow nite I plan oh having baked chicken leg-quarters & cole slaw & the keggeratormore snacks or deserts very welcome and your drink of choice if the keg doesn't appeal
There is no need for apologies. I am a bit of an introvert, and am just looking for the right time to meet people. Your event sounds great, but more on a personal level with the people you know. My intimidation is just my brain playing games with me. I am working to overcome that.
hi Chuck - I've only been to 3 or 4 events so I'm meeting many new people tooostly new ;
PS there are a few blueberries to browse & if anyone knows recipes for cabbage or beets love to be your sous-chef
I've been a habitue of Philosophy beers - fri afternoons at Sir Pizza during school year - for many years - it's a tradition since Gulf War Ibut mediocre beer at high prices & being crowded around tables with little mobility & offending the other clientelle with raucus discussions & topics have led me to lobby (unsuccessfully) for moving to my home - which I bought in part since beers is a very short walk awayMy address 215 Eastland - just north of Sir Pizza in the Ragland subdivision right by campuswill also have a little bonfire thanks for coming if you dohave funPete
Yeah, let us know what you'd like us to bring, Pete.

So what should we all bring?
I'm in Pete is even in my Hood!
I just noticed if you scroll down to Pete's first comment, I think he put his address.
I think he lives next to the MTSU campus. Pete?
Looks like we have an official consensus on the location. Pete's it is!
1 · June 25, 2014
So is the location to be Pete's place? If so, what should we bring?
I'd like to attend but with only two days out I need a location!
I think Pete's would be great
just to renew the offer - keggerator with Mayday's angry Redhead at my placeI would ask a dollar donation for 8 ounces so not free beer but also bringing a bottle of wine or your personal beer preference much cheaper than a restaurant with a much wider selectionMy history includes being ahead of the curve on freethinking about combustibles so I have a stong preference for private venues especially gardens there are also lots of chairs indoors & an oven & fridge if anyone needs pizzahave funPete
3 · June 25, 2014
I like that idea!
O.K. by me. Would certainly be less expensive than Samurai's. What say the rest of you?
I've got a bottle of wine and pizza , what's the address?
My plans changed so I will be attending. That's a nice offer from Pete.
Elyce I elect you to call and reserve the private room at Samurai! :)

Japanese food and I are not compatible, especially when alcohol is added to the equation. Maybe some other time. Sorry.
I'm afraid I won't be able to go now, I have a conflicting engagement.
I good with Samurai!!!!
Let's go with Samurai. Maybe louis can call and see if we can reserve the private room?
Sounds good to me! I'm looking forward to some good sushi! :)
Hey guys -- sorry for being AWOL! Yes, I'm out of town. I hope to be passing through Murfreesboro on Friday night on my way to a wedding in Arkansas, but that's iffy.I see both Mellow Mushroom and Samurai's in the comments. I don't think we can reserve the MM bus - it's 1st come/1st served - someone could go early and claim it??Let's hear a few more comments and we'll decide Thursday evening-ish? Hope I get to see everyone - miss your sweet heathen faces!

Aaron & I have no particular preferences, so just let us know what the final destination is to be.
0 · June 23, 2014
Either of those options sound good yo me! Looks like we have a pretty good crowd though so we will definitely want to make reservations somewhere.
Ooh: can we reserve the Mellow Mushroom bus? I've always wanted to eat in it!

Frankly, any place where I can eat l vegetarian or fish is fine with me. That'd be my problem with Sports grills. And since it's too damn hot for patios, indoors is fine. I think Gayle is out of state, so if everyone is ok with Japanese, we can do Samurai's, though I didn't know they did pitchers. Doubt they charge for a room to fit us; I know Cathay doesn't, and I do love all-u-can-eat sushi!
1 · June 22, 2014
Have a friend who might also like to attend, so am waiting to hear what you decide as to place & time.
I owe a pitcher. We had mentioned Samurai's as a possibility, we could get a dining room, but don't know if there's an extra charge for that.
I am in Europe on a 2- months vacation. See you in August. Have a great summer! Hope you find a location!
I am in...not sure about the spot...this all sound cool..keggerator with Mayday's Angry Redhead on tapalso having a World Cup viewing party at my house this Thurs afternoon 3-ish215 Eastland on East side of Ragland Subdivision
Gayle, can you name a place for us? I'd like to do dinner somewhere, and someone owes us a pitcher from last time!

Has a location been picked? Im hoping to make it to this one. It's been a few months! :)
Looking forward to seeing new friends and exchange ideas!!
