Basic Suturing and Medical Alternatives

In this hands on class you will learn basic interrupted stitches. If you've ever had a laceration or gash sutured, this is probably the sewing technique that was used! I will have surgical instruments to loan out and also useful items includiing extra suture to purchase at my cost.
I will go over what kinds of wounds need to be sutured, wound preparation and sterile surgery preps.
We will also cover herbal plants for healing and using veterinary medicines for humans.

Although I'm a Scientist with a medical background, I am not a medical doctor. This class is for informational use only.

In my opinion, this type of training would be valuable in a post disaster scenario where there is no hope for readily available health care.

Class fee of $5 goes towards supplies.

Bring an old stuffed animal or a throw pilow to practice on! You will not need to cut open your "patient". I have extra throw pillows if you don't want to use your own.
