The Museum of Teaching and Learning (MOTAL) is a growing endeavor that has, since 2004,
established a core advisory committee, a new board, recruited members (>280)
determined interest among educators, community leaders, public, OC Great Park
received grants, e.g. Edison International, Bayer Family Foundation, ConAgra
received endorsements (university presidents & leaders; CSUF, CSULB, OCDE).
initiated collaborations (National Archives, Old Courthouse Museum)
built alliances (AARP, NEA, U.S. Dept. of Education, and others soon)
held events and fundraisers (Fullerton Arboretum, Fullerton Museum, The Bowers)
created exhibits and collected over 250 artifacts with accompanying stories
developed the unique, interactive MOTAL concept to be interesting, interactive, inspiring
obtained independent corporate status as a nonprofit entity
Mission: We bring people of all ages together to learn about learning. We promote understanding about how people learn by providing informative, engaging, and interactive exhibits and activities that explore achievements and methods of education from the past, present, and future throughout the world. The Museum facilitates communication between and among students, families, educators, employers, and legislators and inspires its community to pursue further growth and development of education as a cornerstone of civil society.
