We'll be featuring Walter Beasley on Sunday, June 15th - Father's Day, Bucky Pizzarelli  on Wednesday, June 18th, Gloria Ruben on Thursday, June 19th, and Diane Schuur on Sunday, June 22, all with Members-only discount admission. Diane Schuur –  jazz vocalist and Grammy Winner  “With a recording career that spans nearly three decades–and includes two Grammy Awards and three Grammy nominations–Diane Schuur is as eclectic as she is brilliant. Born in Tacoma, Washington, in December 1953, Schuur was blind from birth. A longtime disciple of Dinah Washington and other legendary jazz singers of the ‘40s and ‘50s, Schuur has built a stellar career.”

Nicknamed "Deedles", she has won two Grammy Awards, headlined many of the world's most prestigious music venues, including Carnegie Hall and The White House and has toured the world performing with such greats as Quincy JonesStan Getz,B. B. KingDizzy GillespieMaynard FergusonRay CharlesJoe Williams and Stevie Wonder. Like Stevie Wonder, Schuur was blinded at birth due to retinopathy of prematurity.

Regular Admission is $40   A 25-percent discount for Music Cleveland! Just $30! Reservations limited first 20, all others will pay the full $40.

The first 20 members posting a RSVP will be added to the VIP List for discount admission.  Our VIP list will be held at the door.  When you RSVP you will be asked to provide your full name and names of guest(s), a phone number and email just in the event that we need to communicate with you quickly.  Then your name will be added to the VIP list!  Please bring cash to pay the hostess at the entrance.

Once we reach the 20 maximum, there will be a waiting list available.  As time gets close to the show date, we always have some cancellations so worry not.

Dinner: Nighttown, before, during or after show.

Time: Arrival around 5 p.m. or whatever is convenient

There will be valet parking and plenty of spots on nearby side streets.  There is a municipal parking lot just west and behind the tavern with a driveway entrance on Cedar.  It is metered parking (well enforced) so bring plenty of quarters.

Nighttown is named after the Dublin Red-Light district in Joyce’s novel Ulysses. It offers the ambiance of Irish pubs and turn-of-the-century New York bars and the food is great.

Vocalist/Pianist Diane ‘Deedles’ Schuur has built a stellar career by embracing and exploring nearly every corner of the 20th century American musical landscape.  Her expressive and powerful vocal deliveries have placed her amongst jazz greats such as Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn.  Schuur has performed in some of the most prestigious venues including New York’s Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and twice at the White House.


With an illustrious recording career that began in the 1980s, Schuur has received numerous awards including two Grammys: Timeless (1986) and Diane Schuur and the Count Basie Orchestra (1987). The recording with the Basie Orchestra spent an impressive 33 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Jazz charts and received three Grammy nominations: Pure Schuur  (1991 - which reached the No. 1 spot on the Contemporary Jazz charts), Love Songs (1993) and ‘The Christmas Song’ from the compilation album Christmas Collection (1993). She has proven her staying power with a steady flow of releases including Heart To Heart – a collaborative recording with B.B. King that entered the Billboard Jazz charts at No. 1, Love Walked In, Swingin’ For Schuur with Maynard Ferguson, Midnight (produced by Barry Manilow), Schuur Fire with the Caribbean Jazz Project and Some Other Time, a tribute to her late mother.

    Diane Schuur was excellent. it was a performance you will look back on for years, truly memorable. i waited around for a photo but discovered that she is very shy. hope we have her back next year but in any event we can now have the memories of hearing someone truly great, a legend.
