We’ll begin gathering around 6 p.m. on the lawn for a classical picnic with the group. Bring a blanket, folding chairs, gourmet picnic treats and your selection of wine to a location near the upper center of the lawn. We’ll try to stakeout a prime listening spot on the hillside for tonight’s concert. Look for balloons and signs to mark the spot.

Finding the group at large events can be challenging so we recommend an early arrival to avoid disappointment.  Also, if you have a cell phone with texting that would be ideal.

MC! organizers always try to obtain something special for group members.; tonight is no exception. We have obtained a 42-percent ticket discount for LAWN SEATING for Music Cleveland! and the German Language Group. Regular Lawn Tickets go for $22.50.  Use the Members-Only Discount Code that you'll see when you RSVP and your price will be just $13. There is no limit on the number you may purchase.  Please indicate the number of guests when you RSVP. This will apply to ADVANCE Internet or Telephone purchases for lawn tickets ONLY.

Tickets purchased at the gate will be the standard $22.50.

When you RSVP, you will be asked several questions. During that process you will be given a code to use when purchasing tickets. You must apply that code when you order tickets. It cannot be applied retroactively.

This is a members-only discount code and should not be shared. Of course, as always you may bring guests. Please do indicate the number of guests on your RSVP so organizers have some idea of our group size.

This discount applies only to ADVANCE PURCHASES and will not apply to walk-up sales.  Lawn tickets purchased at the gate will be full price - $22.50.

The Severance Ticket Office will mail tickets purchased in advance without an additional service fee.  But you must purchase far enough in advance.

Call the Ticket Office at[masked] or[masked], M-F, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for details.

Parking at Blossom

For each Blossom Music Festival performance, Blossom staff make every effort to allow patrons to park in paved lots.  On busy concert nights, however, Lawn ticket buyers and patrons without a parking pass may be directed to grass lots.

Free Tram Service

Free trams circulate throughout the Blossom grounds, providing convenient transportation between the parking lots and several locations inside the entrance, including the Pavilion and Smith Plaza. The trams are all wheelchair-accessible and operate continuously before and after each concert. Tram stops are clearly marked. You may wish to drop off passengers and picnic supplies at the parking lot tram stops before you park.

Traffic and Alternate Routes

Every effort has been made to expedite traffic flow in and around Blossom, and for most concerts, you will experience little delay. Occasionally, however, high attendance strains the capacity of the rural roads around Blossom. If traffic becomes congested after a concert, we suggest using an alternate route through the Cuyahoga Valley which adjoins Blossom to the north and west. This well-marked route may speed your trip and is accessed by turning right on Steels Corners Road out of Blossom’s main entrance.

Parking spaces for patrons with disabilities and special needs are in Lots B and E. A valid disability parking permit is required and must be displayed. For further information, please contact Guest Services at[masked]-6068.

For more information about parking, please call the Severance Hall Ticket Office at[masked] or toll free at[masked] on Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If you would rather not prepare your picnic, Blossom can do that too (click here)

James Feddeck

Assistant Conductor, Elizabeth Ring and William Gwinn Mather Endowed Chair,
The Cleveland Orchestra; and Music Director, Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra

The[masked], season marks James Feddeck's 4th year as assistant conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra and music director of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra. He made his Cleveland debut in August 2009, and his subscription debut in March 2011, when he replaced Franz Welser-Möst at the last minute in the Zürich Opera production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni at Severance Hall. Feddeck has led a number of new community initiatives including Cleveland Orchestra collaborative performances with the Cleveland Museum of Art and Cleveland Play House. He assists Franz Welser-Möst in the preparation of Cleveland Orchestra performances, opera productions, recording projects, and tours.

In the United States, Mr. Feddeck has guest conducted the orchestras of Atlanta, Charleston, Charlotte (with soloist Yo-Yo Ma), Grand Rapids, Memphis, Omaha, St. Louis, San Diego, and Toledo as well as performances with the Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra (Ballet Across America Festival) and Aspen Music Festival. In April 2010, he made his European debut with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, resulting from his participation in a master class with David Zinman. He makes his Canadian debut in 2013 with the Orchestre symphonique de Québec.

Before his appointment in Cleveland, Feddeck was assistant conductor of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. He was a conducting fellow for three summers at the Aspen Music Festival as a protégé of David Zinman, where he received the Robert J. Harth Conductor Prize and the Aspen Conducting Prize and later served as assistant conductor there. He was the unanimous winner of the Sixth Vakhtang Jordania International Conducting Competition as the youngest participant (at age 22). The Georg Solti Foundation U.S. awarded him a career assistance grant, a new prize for young conductors in the United States.

An accomplished organist, Feddeck has performed recitals throughout North America and Europe and has been featured on the radio program Pipedreams. As an oboist, he has a special interest in new music and has commissioned works including Daniel Pinkham’s Oboe Quartet. With his interest in early music, he regularly leads orchestras from the keyboard.

Feddeck’s musical training is unusually diverse. He was admitted to the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in four areas: piano, oboe, organ, and conducting. At Oberlin, he led his first operatic production, of Mozart’s Così fan tutte. In September 2010, Oberlin College awarded him its first Outstanding Young Alumni Award for professional achievement and contributions to society, the college’s highest distinction to alumni of his generation.

Members Note: Please don’t forget your annual Membership Fees. You may use the PayPal link in the upper left margin of the home page or pay the Organizer/Host in cash at your next event. Your dues help cover the costs of being on meetup.com and related administrative costs.
