Music Cleveland! News

Greetings Music Lovers!                                                                                         Tuesday, June 12, 2012

Just a quick update. For all of the new members – WELCOME! I would encourage you to sign up for an event soon. We have quite a few opportunities in June and July. To get the maximum benefit from belonging to Music Cleveland! you must participate. And, you will find members only benefits in most of out activities. Invite your friends to come along.

If you have not visited our home page, I wanted to alert you to 2 spots that just opened for Nighttown next Wednesday evening. As you may know, since Cyrille Aimée & Diego Figuerido are so popular, we were only able to acquire 17 discount admissions. Regular price is $20, but for Music Cleveland! half price at $10 each. You are not required to purchase a meal or even a glass of wine, but the food is so good you’d be crazy not to eat.

When the two spots are gone, the discounts will close. You are still welcome to join us but only at the full price. Don’t delay and face disappointment.

I’m finalizing details for a couple of picnic events at Blossom with the Cleveland Orchestra. It looks like we’ll be there on Saturday, July 21 for Mozart and Saturday, July 28 for Beethoven. We have so much going on both weekends I would be grateful if a member would step-up to be an event host for those concerts. Not much is involved and you might even get a comp ticket for your effort.

Email me directly if you would like to help.

On that same topic, we are always looking for event hosts and organizers who could bring fresh ideas to the group and organize events that would expose us to new genres of music. So far we’ve been all jazz and classical but we’ll move into the country and folk music realms at Cain Park when we see the Carolina Chocolate Drops on Friday, July 20.

A final note: the Russian musical Hipsters scheduled for Saturday, June 30 still has three open spots. This is also posted on the Independent Movie Group where there are seven on a waiting list to join us. As we get closer I may close RSVPs to allow three from the movie group to attend. Its so popular that we’ll be adding a second dinner for the movie group. The film is not restricted but our arrangements for dinner after at L’Albatros only allow for a party of 10.

Lastly, please don’t forget your annual dues to cover our expenses of being on the site. You may pay an organizer in person at your next event or use the PayPal option found in the upper left margin of our main page. Thanks so much.
