We are an informal group for people and their dogs to get together for a fun day of hiking. We hike in all but the most severe weather but we do hike in the rain. Call/e-mail the hike organizer if you are unsure.
Most hikes are easy to moderate and last between 2-5 hours and some of our hikes have TAPs (turn around points) for those that need to leave early. The hike leaders endeavor to include details in the hike description.
Most hike locations are within a 90 minute drive of central Toronto. Many hike locations have swimming opportunities for the dogs.
You are not required to bring a dog but if you don't have one, maybe Ruff next door would enjoy a day out. Your dog should enjoy the company of other dogs and people and should be under good voice command if you plan to take them off leash.
We suggest you bring with you: - A friendly pup or two - Leash(s), water for you and Ruff - snacks or light lunch for both of you - Camera - Towel for Ruff - Proper foot wear for light hiking - Be prepared for weather (sun protection, rain gear, etc.)
Please review our waiver and group policies kept in the files section of our site before RSVPing for a hike.
Our trips are organized by untrained volunteers and are going on a hike with their dogs and are inviting others to join them.
