Yucca Flats @ Palmer Park--recurring evening hike

A group of us were talking one night, and decided we should have some recurring evening hikes at some local parks.  This is the first of those.

We'll start out from Yucca Flats and see where the trail takes us. There are lots of trails in the area, so we should have plenty to explore.  Dogs are permitted off leash as well.  (yeah!)

It's also staying light later now...so we can walk as long as the light or our feet or the dogs hold out.

Distance: generally 2-3 miles

Difficulty:  easy-moderate.  Mostly easy.

So, come join us and see what adventures present themselves weekly.

Directions (this is one of many ways to enter the park):

From Maizeland Ave., enter the main gate to Palmer park. Pass the main parking lot and baseball fields on the right. Continue up Paseo Rd until you come to the Lazyland group picnic area/Yucca Flats on the right hand side. Turn right on the gravel road then bear left at the Y (the right turn will take you to the group picnic area). Parking area is at the end of the road and off-leash trails lead out from there.

* If this is your first hike/event with our group for 2013, please bring the $5 dues with you. It will be collected before the event starts.*

It was a good hike and starting at 5:30 helped for the light aspect.

I should make it. If I'm not there by 5:30, go ahead without me. Thx.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
