Friends Int'l (Halifax) Weekly Meetup - Time change!

  • February 12, 2012 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Hi everyone,

I've been a backup organizer for awhile but have been busy with other things. I'm trying to connect with Tony to see about the future/path of the group but meanwhile I have a free Sunday evening this week on Feb. 12th. So as 8pm is a little late for me, I'm changing it to 7pm until 8:30pm. I will try to find a spot in the back but if not, anywhere I can grab a few chairs.

So I invite all the new members, old members, anyone who has tried to meetup in the last few months. I thought we could discuss things to do in the future, events that would appeal to a variety of people or maybe a number of smaller different events that would appeal to a specific group of people, as well as a general conversation group.

Or if you can't make this Sunday, please feel free to email me and let me know what kind of things you would want to do with this group - why did you join it for example?

I hope to meet you all! So look for me on Sunday, Feb. 12th at 7:00pm at Second Cup on Spring Garden Road.

PS. It would be great if we could keep our RSVP's up to date for this one. If you decide you can't come after all, change it at anytime as I'll have my laptop with me and will be online while I'm at the coffee shop. I figure knowing how many RSVPs and what people should look like, will only help in me grabbing enough chairs and potentially recognizing people as they walk in. Cheerio!

Hi All My Cool Friends, Old and New:

This is TonyRomeo, the founder and director of Friends Int`l (Halifax). Our meetups are back in action. I am hoping that more people will show commitment and interest.

Our social club is different from the other social meetups in Halifax . We are not relying on outdoor adventures, boardgames or dining out experiences, although there is nothing wrong with that. Our main focus is on good conversations, companionship, support and lively intellectual discussions over a cup of coffee. But occasionally we might go to do other fun things such as movies, music, sight-seeing or share a meal together. This is a rather inexpensive way to meet new people and share ideas and experiences.

The location will be at the Second Cup on Spring Garden Rd and Queen Street. The time will be the same - at 8 pm. The meeting fee of one dollar will be waived during this promotional period. But because of my new work schedule, the day of the week will be change to Sunday night ( No more Saturday nights). So, let`s make it a success in the coming year and spread the words. (Any last minute changes to the meetup will be posted at least one day before the meetup and under the - Talk About this Meetup below this section.)

By the way, I am still looking for people who can help me to organize events or promote this social club.

Don't Worry, Be Happy, :-)

PS. ( I am the guy with a sport jacket ,spiky hair and reading a book. In case of rainy days, my clothing will be different. )

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
