INFJ Tribe Meetup

Several new INFJs have joined the group in recent months, and I thought it would be nice to introduce them to the other INFJs in the group. I am leaving the venue, date, and time open so that we can create a mutually agreeable Meetup.

SPECIAL EVENT:

This event is open to INFJs only. The reason for this is that some members would like to first meet others of their own specific personality type before potentially branching out and joining a more diverse grouping of iNtuitives. If you are an ENFJ, ENFP, or INFP, and you would like to host a type-specific Meetup, please suggest the Meetup (with a specific venue, date, and time) and then contact me, and I will announce the event.

TOPIC:

N/A

VENUE(S):

PARKING:

TIMING:

Meetups run for as long as participants want them to. It's a pressure-free commitment--so please feel free to leave when you want and stay as long as you want.

COUPLES:

If your Meetup.com profile is joint (if you are registered as a couple), and you both are attending, please indicate +1 under guests.

NOTICES:

This event is open to INFJ members of Myers-Briggs iNtuitive Feelers (NF) Meetup Group and their guests.

We may end up moving beyond the planned venues, so please make sure you have my phone number so that you can locate us.

No prob, it was my pleasure. BTW, does anybody know how to work communication on Meetup? I try to reply to messages but just get taken to my Profile page and don't see any inbox or anything :-/

      3 · May 5, 2013

    • Orilea

Tim... re: communications, is this with emails from individual people? People have the option to "hide their email address" when they send a message via the meetup system, or not. If you cannot hit reply from within your email and see the person's email address, then you have to go to their profile page to reply to them by sending them a new message. Annnnddd... if you are referencing something different re: communications, then let me know and I will try to help! =)

It sounds like Arcadia is the city of choice. Places that work well tend to be (relatively) quiet, be less crowded, have decent parking, have adequate space, and be unconcerned with how much time we spend there. A pleasant atmosphere and good food are also appreciated!

Here are a few locations I found (plus the recommendations)--along with info pulled from the reviews:

    http://www.yelp.com/biz/taza-arcadia
Small, but excellent coffee and atmosphere.

    http://www.yelp.com/biz/westfield-santa-anita-arcadia
Parking and crowds can be an issue. However, lots of space. I do not know about places for groups to go--but there's probably a space in there somewhere.

    http://www.yelp.com/biz/goldsteins-bagel-bakery-arcadia
    Small, but has good bagels.

    http://www.yelp.com/biz/cafe-maji-arcadia
Small and oddly placed. But good parking and cheap.

Natural Selection is closed on Sundays.

Let me know what you think. :)

@Tim: I understand your concern. However, the owners/staff of the coffeehouses we usually frequent are happy to have the business and to have people introduced to the business. Also, we can change venues.

      1 · April 10, 2013

    • Geoffrey A.

@Orilea: I'm not sure whether they will be full or not. The only one's I have a history with are the ones we frequent in Pasadena. I will show up a little early and try to reserve seats--if there is insufficient space, we'll just have to *gasp* improvise. ;) There are several nearby venues that, while not ideal, will be all right. We have always seemed to make it work in the past. And sometimes Charlie's has been quite full (and sometimes a ghost town). And thank you for your other suggestions--I haven't tried them, so that might make a good spot for another Meetup.

All right, it sounds like we can all agree on a dates in May, so I selected May 5th.

in Arcadia on Santa Anita there's a great bagel spot, Goldsteins bagel bakery or a healthy choice down the street from it, Natural Selection.

My allergies are raging, so I'd rather not do a park setting right now. I don't know about the others in the LA area, but Arcadia would be fine with me.

It sounds like most people so far would prefer the weekend, with Sunday being suggested. Would any of the Sundays in May work particularly well? Would May 5, 19, or 26 work? I should point out--in case anyone here observes these holidays--that May 5 is Cinco de Mayo, May 12 is Mother's Day (so I left it out), May 19 is Pentecost, and May 26 is Trinity Sunday.

    April 7, 2013

    • Kornel

      ^ this, is fine, i wouldn't mind a sunday.

      1 · April 8, 2013

    • Tim

All of these are fine. Mother's Day, Mom will probably ask me to go to church with her. :-)

We have a fair amount of people signed up. Are there particular places and/or dates we can agree on?

    April 6, 2013

    • Kornel

I think Sundays would be best for everyone geoffrey it seems that is the general date people seem to clamoring to. I was thinking somewhere in between la, and San Bernardino, so maybe San Dimas or west covina. i know there is a coffe clutch in San Dimas but I'm not familiar with area, but just my two cents

      1 · April 8, 2013

  • Geoffrey A.

What locations would work for people (to echo Orilea's question)?

    1 · April 7, 2013

    • Orilea

I gotta admit... I'm not as willing (able) to drive too far. Long Beach would be too far for me personally.

I'd prefer a weekend most likely. I can probably do an evening if it's later in the week (Thurs/Fri).

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
