Introduction

Being in the wine industry myself and new to the area (relocated from Sarasota, FL), I would like to meet people who are interested in wine, culture and cuisine.

What kind of wines do you like ? Any specific reason you picked that wine?

I have an appreciation for all wines. One must know what to expect from an Alsatian Pinot Gris versus one from the Pacific Northwest. I do, however, have an affinity for champagne and both white and red Burgundy.

What kind of wine tastings and events would you like to see planned for this group?

Both professional and casual. I like a mix of meeting winemakers and winery owners to speak with them about why they chose this strain of yeast over that as well as a more focused tasting, such as 10 different 2007 Caifornia Pinot Noirs.

Why did you choose to join this group instead of one of the other wine groups on Meetup?

I am a member of several wine groups within the DFW area. Each are unique in their own right; some are geared toward meeting new people with wine as a common interest, and others are geared toward meeting new wines...

Describe a wine tasting that was memorable.

I've been to plenty of wine tastings, but honestly one wine dinner with friends stands out in my mind. A tiny place in SRQ, 5 courses, and a few stand out wines: 1998 Krug Brut, 2001 Francois Raveneau Chablis Les Clos, 1989 DRC Grands Eschezeaux...
