Strategy and Tabletop RPG Night

An evening spent on intense games.  This can include tabletop RPGs (Pathfinder, WoD, Shadowrun . . .) and strategy board games (Axes and Allies, Duel of Ages, Risk . . .).  One-shots, campaigns, and intense board games welcome.

We encourage people to show up early, possibly with a game in mind. From Pathfinder to Fiasco, Exalted to Labyrinth Lord, you'll be able to find other people interested in playing just about anything under the sun.  Feel free to plan games in the comments section here.

Note: Doors open at 5pm with an eye toward play starting by 7pm. We are able to open earlier as we get a feel for this new addition to the regular event schedule. Like every other open NAGA event, this is participatory, so feel free to suggest and put forward ideas.

I think I'm also going to bring 7 Wonders with the expansions tonight. Maybe to open and/or close.

I do not think we will have enough...let's see if we can get enough to commit for next time.

Since we are increasing in numbers and may need another table, I am going to bring Revolution!, which is all about controlling a whole town of malcontents for your purposes to win. I will also bring in Hero Quest if anyone wants to square off against my dastardly dungeon full of traps and minions. Bring it on.

To do Overlord you need a double set....there is the new Overlord with 6 over sized maps as well.

      Wow. That's impressive.

Colin, are you going to be playing Memoir tomorrow? If so, I'd appreciate it if you teach. I haven't actually played Overlord but am familiar with the rules and differences. Still, I'd feel more comfortable with an experienced hand leading.

Deb probably won't be there. She's got work stuff. It'll just be me and whatever I load into the van.

Another topical possibility would be playing an Overlord scenario of Memoir 44. Friday is the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings at Normandy. The Overlord games take up to 8 players. I think that we would need at least 6 to make it interesting. Otherwise we would be down to playing a 2-player game, which doesn't really work for Friday nights for me. I'm pretty sure there is an Overlord D-Day scenario. I'll double check if there's interest. That would probably take most of the evening.

Deb and I are planning to be there. I'm thinking of bringing something topical- The World Cup Game. (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/23604/the-world-cup-game) It can play up to 16 people and plays fairly quickly. you are trying to advacne your teams in the World Cup brackets to end up winning the final game. there is some player elimination but because of the nature of the game it doesn't last too long after someone is knocked out. I have all of the expansions so maybe we could do the 2010 World Cup. Just about anyone who is interested could jump in and it wouldn't last the entire night.

I'm not sure what else to bring along to fill out the evening.

Hey guys! Finally got my printer working so I am ready to get back into gaming on Fridays. I am looking to run Mistfinder which is the Pathfinder rpg rules set for the Ravenloft gothic horror D&D setting. This will be an easy game to jump in at any time if you miss character creation so dont be afraid to jump in. I only have the Pathfinder Rulebook and Bestiary plus some extras from the setting, anyone wanting to play something from the other Pathfinder books will have to bring them. Send me a line with any questions :)
