Practical Tips for Navigating the Workplace: A Panel Discussion

  • May 22, 2014 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

The Healthcare Leadership Alliance has identified five competencies that most successful healthcare leaders tend to possess:

1) Communication and Relationship Management 2) Leadership  3) Professionalism 4) Knowledge of the Healthcare Environment 5) Business Skills and Knowledge

Of these competencies, Relationship Management is one area that tends to require most careful nurturing; but it is often the most overlooked.  While most healthcare professionals tend to focus on acquiring and developing the requisite analytical and quantitative skills to be successful, many often lack the “soft skills” or Emotional Intelligence (EQ) needed to achieve their full potential as a leader.  As a result, many professionals consistently encounter unexpected opposition and fall into political pitfalls that could potentially stifle their professional progression. During this event, healthcare professionals will learn strategies on how to enhance one’s EQ to tactfully navigate the workplace and become a more effective leader.
