NAMI Wake is a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to provide support, education, and advocacy for people with mental illnesses and their family and friends.
We offer separate support groups for both family members and people who have mental illness. There are groups meeting in Raleigh, Garner, Wake Forest and Fuquay. Please check the calendar to identify a group suitable for you or send an email.
We also offer classes for both family members of adults with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and other general mental illnesses. The class are called Family to Family and run for 12 weeks. Contact Susan Hadley if you are interested: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Another class is specifically for family members of people with symptoms or a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder. This class runs for 12 weeks. Contact Ann Akland if you are interested: email@example.com.
We also offer a class for family members and caregivers of children and adolescents under age 18 who have a behavioral health diagnosis or symptoms as well as a monthly support group. Please check the calendar for this month's meeting topic.
