The garden offered a perfect setting for Macro Photography.

Can we try again for next week? Same time and day? Anyone interested...It was raining so hard at my house I just bailed.

That's why you should never make plans based on the weather at your location. It wasn't raining at the gardens.

If people plan to meet, I'll come. Photography is so new to me that all the practice I can get is good.

Weeelllll I now have to go cover a baseball game for old-media. So I'm gonna have to bail. But if the weather isn't conducive for macro, feel free to come by south high at the same time! I'll be the one in rain gear with neoprene rain shields on my gear.....

(I suppose I'm half-serious. Sports photography counts as nature yes?)

There are lovely ways to shoot the Botanical Gardens without a macro lens. I shot macro with my[masked] lens last weekend in Kenai. Got some great stuff.

Unless it is down pouring like right now I plan to go.

Agreed - current conditions not favorable.

I see a lot of comments about "weather dependent" attendance. Don't let a few sprinkles deter you - rain droplets will add lots to macro opportunities. I plan on attending unless it is a downpour (which it could be).

Yes depends on the weather if I will be showing up!

  • Jackie

I RSVPd Yes, but that's weather dependent!

Doooooes anyone have an extra Nikon Macro that I could borrow/ trade off for the session? I don't actually have any macro lenses, apparently. But figured id tag along.

Herb, you don't necessarily need a Macro. The first time I shot at the Botanical Gardens I shot with a[masked] and got some great Macro shots.
