Water, Water, Everywhere

Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink (yet)!

This will be an overview of different types and technology of water treatment presented in laymens terms with practical applications as well as (hopefully) hands on with a bucket of filthy water resulting in a cool, refreshing drink! My intent is to present this for someone who is starting out and confused by all the different methods to decipher what it all means to make a more informed decision as well as for more advanced users where we will explore alternative/improvised filters and discuss some of what you like and dislike about each method and provide real world feedback. This is an open discussion with me talking on each point. I am not an expert, ex special forces, municipal filtration specialist, scientist, etc so I encourage an open forum of conversation as I present and welcome questions (someone will have an answer!!).

I look forward to our discussion!

It was a very good meeting. Zac had a great presentation, plenty of interaction and those that needed to learn new things I think got it. Always good to refresh for those with the knowledge and be able to elaborate and give life experiences to others.

I'd like to know how you can tell if your filtered/purified water has odorless toxic chemicals in it.

I was more specifically thinking about rain collection from a tar roof or toxic paint that water ran across during its collection process.

Ah ok. We will touch briefly on some ways to remove metals and chemicals and how to treat questionable water as best as possible. I know there are products out there that can do this. Good question!!

Is there anything specific anyone wants to make sure I cover? Anyone have any questions we need to make sure get answered? :)
