Wounded Warrior Ride - Soldier Ride - NOT A SLOW RIDE EVENT

  • September 25, 2010 · 9:00 AM

Soldier Ride provides wounded warriors the opportunity to reclaim their confidence and strength through the exhilaration of cycling. Participants embrace possibilities for the future in a supportive environment of fellow injured service members.
This is a Full Supported Bike Ride transversing roads, many of which you haven't ridden in Franklin/Williamson Co area. The 25 mile route is a SLOW Police Escorted Route with the Warriors(although you may ride it at any speed), the 50 Mile Route will take you to Liepers Fork, Carnton Plantation, and back to BGA. I have added an 85 mile option. I HAVE POSTED a SLOWRIDE Team: Nashville Registration If your unable to ride and want to make a small donation, please do so under our Team. Thank You !! http://sr.woundedwarriorproject.org/content/view/19/40/ Your gift is tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law. Wounded Warrior Project is a registered 501(c)3 organization.

I loved the ride and what it stands for. My uncle is in Afghanistan for another 9 months when I told him what we were doing, he was so thankful. I hope we can continue to do more charity rides. I like giving back to others that are less fortunate than me. I am sorry I did not find the others to ride as a team. I felt like I was just riding as an individual but I met some other people there and enjoyed the ride with them.

Though I didn't ride with any of the slow riders, I thoroughly enjoyed the ride! I feel much more confident now with my ability to tackle the MS 150.

I enjoyed the event, but there was no "meetup" of members at the ride. My experience would have been the same if I had signed up and gone by myself. Again, I really enjoyed my day and am fired up to help this cause, but I was hoping to meet some new friends to ride with and it didn't happen.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
