Tomato Bike Ride / Nashville Tomato Fest / New Orleans Style Parade

NOTICE:  TIME CHANGE!!!    Ride now starts at 8:00am!!!

Lets meetup and bike to East Nashville's Tomato Fest, voted best festival four years in a row. (This is a joint meetup with 'embedded Nashville'.) The Tomato Fest includes art, food, vendors, costumes, and lots of great musical entertainment. It all kicks off with a 'Big Easy' style 2nd line parade, which starts at 9am, and runs from 10-4.

Our Greenway ride starts with spectacular views of the Cumberland River, rolls thru Shelby Bottom & Shelby Park, then along Davidson, 5th St., & Woodland to the Five Points Area. We will have plenty of time for this 5 mile cruise to make the start of the kick-off parade.

After the parade, we can decide when/where to meet for the 5 mile ride back, after allowing time to visit the various festival venues. Some folks may want to leave directly, or some may wish to stay and make a day of it on their own. (Hey, we're flexible here!) If you don't wanna ride, just meet us in front of Bongo Java at 107 S.11th for the start of the parade. If you wear a costume you can join the parade! (warning: it's hot!)

Come on out and let's celebrate summer!

Bring a lock for your bike, so you can roam around if you wanna.
Water and/or money for refreshment is good also - It will be hot!
    See ya there!!!

When I originally planned this ride, the Tomato Fest website wasn't finished, and did not show that the parade starts at 9 instead of 10.
Note that our ride time has been moved from 9 to 8am because of the updated information. if you don't wanna get out that early you can just meet us at the Bongo Java by 9 for the parade.
