Ride Categories

There have been several questions about how to label the experience and speed level of different rides. I am suggesting the following categories which are, obviously, voluntary for anyone creating a meetup.

Slow or beginner - less than 10 MPH and distance of 10 miles or less on flat greenways only

Moderate or recreational - 10-14 MPH and 10-20 miles usually on greenways

Intermediate - 15-18 MPH and 20+ miles on greenways, streets and rural highways with some climbing

Advanced - 20+ MPH, distance of 30+ miles with pacelines and substantial climbing
