Geocaching 101... AND 102

Are you new to geocaching? Heard about it and want to learn more? Tried it a couple of times and want to hear some secrets?

Geocaching 101 will cover:

* Basic history of the Global Positioning System
* Description of geocaching
* How to hide and find a cache
* Basics of www.geocaching.com
* What to take on a cache run

Geocaching 102 will cover:

* New features on www.geocaching.com

* How to run a pocket query

* Common GPS features

* Going paperless

Of course, there will time for Q&A.... except there won't be time to train everyone how to use their individual GPS; there's just too many brands and models out there. That's why they include Owners' Manuals.

This event is open to the public, including members of geocaching.com that might see it posted at:

Experienced cachers are invited -- and encouraged -- to attend and contribute by adding their personal stories, adventures, and mishaps (and might have experience with your GPS!)

    The classes provided both a refresher and new information. I learned what I was hoping to learn from the 102 class. The class also attracted geocachers with a lot of experience and so we got to hear other approaches to hiding, finding, and maintaining geocaches. We had a very good time. We also walked out with paper copies of the material covered in class and with some cache treasures. Bobby Hall (the presenter) knows his stuff and is a polished presenter. I highly recommend taking these classes for a strong understanding of geocaching.
