FMST needs additional FALLS LAKE TASK FORCE team volunteers

This is the second annual call for dedicated Volunteers to join the FMST Falls Lake Trails Task Force.

There are 23 Sections of the Falls Lake Trail which is maintained by the Falls Lake Trail Task Force. What better way to become familiar with the Falls Lake Trail Task Force Team than sharing a few hours of social time & a good meal. Jeff Brewer will present the 2014 FLT planned activities & a discussion time will follow.

There will be both Vegetarian & Carnivore food served, plus a variety of liquid refreshments. A voluntary donation jar will be available to help offset the expense involved.
This is an invitational MeetUp to help recruit additional Falls Lake Trail Task Force members. The FMST is inviting potential work partners to the 5 JAN 2014 Social and Dinner meeting specifying that the location would only be sent to truly interested volunteers, as our room can only hold 60 diners. The plan is that new volunteers, if necessary, could partner up with existing experienced task force members to share responsibility. You must contact Will Farmer so we can have a firm list of attendees. If you have questions do not hesitate to: eMail donnanwill at or call WILL at RES:[masked] or Cell:[masked] The Social & Meal starts at 4 PM & is provided by Will & Donna Farmer at a clubhouse near their home in Wake Forest. Directions will be provided when one becomes a firm attendee as directed above.

A really great afternoon/night with special MST people. Thank you Farmers for an awesome meal!

All, don't forget all that we need all the FMST member volunteers possible for the FMST Falls Lake Challenge on March 30th. It will be a lot of fun and the MST benefits well from the event.

I will actually be running the race itself, but will try to make sure I help out in advance, where possible

I enjoyed meeting everyone and learning more about this section of the MST. If anyone would like company while they check out their sections I would be happy to help since I'd like to hike the entire Falls Lake Trail this spring.

This sounds like something I would love to do, but both my transportation and walking ability are somewhat impaired these days.

As much as I would like to attend and help, I can not be certain that I could get there.

Menu so far is: Beef ChateauBriand (look it up), Chicken Alfredo, Will's St Loiue Style Pulled Pork, lots of VEGGIES & a HUGE Mixed Green Salad. Probably a Rice special for the veggie folks. Lead in's as we Socialize will be an eclectlic variety of Donna's creations, sure to please everyone, maybe even some Grilled Shrimp if I have time for them!

It will be too COLD to go swimmin & the POOL IS CLOSED, but the Drinks are out by the pool, just do not fall in, as I will be in trouble!

It looks like we will have 30-40 fun time volunteers! A good meal & Jeff will inspire us to KICK BUTT in 2014. We need special volunteers to make the Campsites Happen! There are two new Thru-Hiker Campsites that will need special care to assure the Thru-Hikers have a positive experience. Donna & I procured & carried a special request for Red Robin Burgers to the Blind Hiker & his support staff as a special care!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
