September 29 - National Public Lands Day Workday - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Jeff Brewer Message:

Falls Lake Workday - Come help with trail work on the MST on Saturday - September 29, 2012 - National Public Lands Day at Falls Lake in Durham and Wake County! We will meet at 9:00 AM and move to the project sites.

NEW Meeting Spot - All interested should meet at Food Lion parking lot at the intersection of Patterson/Sherron and Highway 98. Please use google maps for this intersection. After we meet we will split up into project groups and "scatter out" to do our trail work.

Please RSVP to [masked]or[masked] for our workday by September 25, 2012. Your RSVP is a huge help in a successful workday.

Our Major Project for the Day is:

Trail Maintenance from Highway 50 to Penny's Bend - Western half of the Falls Lake Trail. We will split up into small groups and scatter out across the trail sections for work.

Thanks to Great Outdoor Provision Company for sponsoring our breakfast from Chick-Fli-A at our workdays. Thanks also to Starbucks off Falls of Neuse Road and Durant Road for the coffee.

Make sure you bring plenty of water, bag lunch, and gloves.

Next week we will send out a more detailed email about our projects for the day.

Thanks for your service.

My group worked very hard and got more done than I could imagine. The re-route is amazing thanks to all of you seasoned and newbie volunteers.

This will be my first time joining you for trail work. Is there anything helpful I should bring besides water, gloves and lunch?
