October FMST Workday/Cookout

From: Will & D.
Sent on: Wednesday, October 31, 2012 10:54 AM

Dear Falls Lake FMST Volunteers,

We had a great workday and cookout on Saturday at Falls Lake. We had 32 volunteers come out to perform trail maintenance. We also had a S212 Chainsaw crew cut and remove trees across the trail.

Workday Results:

Trail Maintenance on Falls Lake Trails Sections 1,2,3,4,11,12,13,15,16,17,18,19,21.

Section 13 received fresh white blazes.

This year's Army Corps of Engineers Volunteer Award goes to - Eric Motzno and Nancy Gill a husband and wife team that has overseen Sections 19,20, and 21. They will be moving soon to Las Vegas!...and we will miss them for sure! Hats off to each of them for their hard work over the years.

Thanks to the Corps Staff for our supply of cookout food to reward a day's work on the trail!

This was our last official workday for the year and it has been another great year of trail work at Falls Lake on the MST! Trail maintainence will continue year round by Falls Lake Trail task force leaders & others to have a safe trail for everyone to hike.

We will start working on next year's calendar very soon.

In Service,

Jeff Brewer
