We've been over due for a D/S ride for some time now. No route planned just yet but we'll likely end up in the Meadows of Dan area for lunch and then continue the ride before heading back south. Ride will contain as much dirt as possible but sadly this will likely be no more than 10% of the ride. More details to come. As with all of my rides plan to be gone all day or feel free to turn back early.

I hate a missed a good one but I was in no shape to be on a bike today. I'll post up another ride in a few days time.

Excellent ride today. Exemplified what an adventure ride should be like. Burt came through big time in an unexpected twist to the day. It was great to make some new friends as always. I hope to see you all again soon. Mike - I don't know this gator road you speak of, my tracks seems to have been erased. ….

Had a Blast, Was a bit slow for us to get going but doing Burt's trail was great and made it all worth it as long you don't look to the side of the 100 ft drop, don't get off the path. Other than that seems to be a lot of gravel there and dusty roads cough cough. One part with asphalt with the the loose fine gravel/sand was interesting gave me one ho.. shi.. downhill meeting car. We finished pretty early I think, Next time we might get there faster and do it, Seems leaving Turtle at home was a good idea, lol. But for people liking asphalt it had some nice twisty roads in the ride and the pace was pretty brisk. It's a keeper.

Obviously I bowed out today. Would have gone if it were shorter, but I had too much to do. Maybe next time. Glad the weather was good for those who went.

Great time in VA. We will definitely return to Burt's trail (Gator Mountain)

Sorry guys but I will NOT be riding today. I woke up with massive stomach craps and have been in and out off the bathroom since about 6am. I hoped it would pass but to no avail. Hopefully you guys can still get in a nice ride but I will not be there.

Guys, last minute drop out for me. Too many things popped up for me in the last day or so that I need to care of. Hopefully I can make it to a future ride.

Last-minute consideration for me as I feel guilty leaving all the work I should be doing, but in case I overcome the needless guilt, are there any more details? I would need to be back in Oak Ridge tomorrow evening.

I'll post up a rough idea of the general route in an hour or so. Likely looking at 250 miles or so & maybe 8 hours or so.

No worries, I figured that would be the case for most folks. Hopefully I can give you guys an idea of the route before Sat morning. Roger, I know you've been riding in this area a long time so feel free to make suggestions via PM if you like.

Glad to see Roger has joined and hopping that Rodney can still make it. If anyone is interested in camping out somewhere Saturday night please let us know as that's an option but only if everyone else agrees.

Dagnabit! A guy at work has a family emergency, so he can't be on call this weekend, so I have to cover for him. Looks like I'm going to have to miss out this weekend. You guys have a good ride, and I'll catch you next time :(

Turtle, just found out about a rally that weekend near Waynesboro, VA at Sherando Lake. Only about 165 miles from Greensboro, just a thought in case we wanted a destination to turn around at.

Website above. A friend from Richmond told me about it. Not a dual-sport ONLY event but good time. I could camp on Sat too.

I have no other plans that weekend. I'm still planning on going, but would totally understand if anyone else wanted to bow out and do family stuff that weekend.

I'm still IN Turtle. Wife is visiting family in Colorado so I have a Hall Pass for the whole weekend.

When I posted this meet up I didn't realize it was Labor Day weekend. The ride will still take place assuming someone shows up.

Looks like I'll have to leave the house about 6:30 in order to make it to the meet up on time, so I doubt I'll be out all day. I'll come ride what I can though.

I may adjust the start time once I get a better idea of the route. We also have several guys from the RDU that I'm hoping may be able to join us and want them to be able to make it as well. Heck, why not just do it now. Changing to 8:45 with kickstands up at 9.

I'll be there on the big Tiger.
