Film Screening: Wild By Law

Join us for a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act. Wild By Law tells the story of the three people most responsible for the act: forester/philosopher Aldo Leopold, author of the best-selling A Sand County Almanac; and Bob Marshall and Howard Zahniser from the Wilderness Society. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary, the filmprovides an overview of the roots of the environmental movement and the issues of wild space in a civilized society.Dr. James G. Lewis, historian at the Forest History Society, will introduce the film and lead a discussion afterwards. Co-sponsored by UNC-TV.
