Presentation on Concentrated Solar Thermal for a new Electric Grid

Join us next Friday night Jan. 20th at 6 pm for a presentation on the exciting potential for developing concentrated solar thermal to help us transition off of coal and nuclear for electric energy, with slides by Stephen Mann, of the Solution Generators Network, and a leader of Transitions Durham. Discussion to follow.

No charge, but we pass the hat, suggested donations of $5-$8; also we'll have cheap hot drinks and healthy snacks (or feel free to bring some with you).

Come early and check out Recyclique, our non-profit upcycling/enviro ed co-op shop.  We now have all Stephen & Rebekah Hren's books in stock, plus a variety of new and used books on sustainability topics; sci-fi, how-to, political economy, etc -- books (and educational toys) are 10% off during our Winter Sale. [We also have a lending policy to allow you to buy a book and trade it in for another of same or less value within 30 days] We welcome donations of books on similar topics.

Steve was very informed on a wide range of complex issues of where CST currently fits into today's menu of conventional and alternative energy solutions. He gave a great presentation and was awesome at responding to the questions from the audience.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
