Managing the Ellerbe Creek Watershed

In the bustle of life in an urban area, it is easy to forget that each of our households affects (and is dependent on) the health of local creeks and wetlands that flow across Durham. After Ellerbe Creek was flagged by the state for its pollution, a remarkable team of local folks have acquired urban greenspace, sponsored neighborhood clean-ups and built innovative educational programs that are now models for other cities. Join us to hear Chris Dreps, of the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association, fill us in on the threats, solutions in process, and what more needs to be done in the Ellerbe Creek Watershed.

Come early and check out Recyclique, our upcycling co-op’s retail shop, featuring refurbished goods, sustainability products/books, vintage, fair trade, local crafts
