Big Data and Machine Learning - Uses Cases and Analysis

Refreshments & Networking : 3:45 PM - 4:00 PM

Session 1 : Sentimental Analysis of twitter Data in R by Ishmeet Kaur & Paritosh Gupta

Twitter is one of the leading social networking sites today where people share their views. We will mine these tweets and analyse their opinions. Along with this we will also try to represent graphically the data captured via this exercise as well as show the hidden trends.

Duration : 40 minutes (4:10 PM- 4:50 PM)

Topics :

1. Mining Twitter Data using OAuth Authentication

2. Formation of WordCloud

3. Sentimental Analysis and Plotting Graphs

Prerequisites :

Basic Knowledge of R

Interest in Analysis

Session 2: Say Hello to Kibana by Akul Narang & Yuvraj Gupta.

Data is evolving at a very high rate. Extracting relevant information and analyzing the raw data is a huge challenge. Kibana makes it very easy to analyze the data by providing attractive visualizations & greater insights in the world of Big Data.

Duration: 50 mins (5:00 PM - 5:50 PM)

Topics :

1. What is Kibana ?

2. The need for Big Data Discovery

3. Understanding Logstash & Elastic Search

4. Setting up kibana from scratch

5. Importing data to kibana

6. Creating beautiful dashboards with kibana

Zeal to learn on managing Big Data.

Session 3: Crisp Talk on Machine learning on Telco big data by Vikram Grover

Duration: 20 minutes (5:55 PM-6:15 PM)

Session 4: Face Detection and Recognition with Python by Ishmeet Kaur & Paritosh Gupta

Face Detection is generally considered as the key requirement in many applications such as Facial recognition systems, video surveillance, Human computer interface etc. We will be discussing about face detection followed by facial recognition using the OpenCV library.

Duration: 40 minutes (6:20 PM-7:00 PM)

Topics :

1. Open CV with Python

2. Face Detection

3. Eigen Faces Algorithm

4. Face Recognition System

Prerequisites :

Basic Knowledge of Python

Interest in Image-Processing

Can we use Kibana in data warehousing?
Like our Database in Teradata and we use BO for reporting purpose. Can we use Kibana with teradata for reporting purpose?
    And also instead of Tableu?

    • Akul N.

Hey Manish.... As i had earlier mentioned that Kibana is not a standalone product & neither it stores data, just gives a visualization to data present in ElasticSearch. So Kibana cannot be used as a data warehouse. Also as Data is stored in ElasticSearch or you can use Apache Solr. So Teradata plugin has not been developed to import data into ELasticSearch. But as it is open source maybe you could develop the same or it may be added soon in the future. Also check this link to see which all plugins are supported & have been developed. Link : http://www.elasticsea...

Also while comparing with Tableau, Tableau is a desktop software whereas Kibana is a web application which can be hosted on a server & accessed over the internet. Also i came across an article specifying connecting tableau to elasticsearch though I havent checked it yet. Link:
