NCTech4Good Message Board › Playing with Open Atrium for NCTech4Good.org
Chapel Hill, NC
I've installed Open Atrium at http://nctech4good.nccommunities.org for us to play with. Create your userid and I'll give you the role admin so you can poke around and change things. Don't worry about breaking anything. It takes me less than 15 minutes to empty the database, wipe out the files, and install.
Open Atrium is a Drupal distribution that includes functions I've been trying to build on NCCommunities (forums, special interest groups, blogs, etc.). We can add additional modules, like CiviCRM. It might be a good platform for the NCTech4Good.org site after the conference.
What's there is pretty much straight out of the box -- I just uploaded our logo, changed the green background to blue, and allowed admins to use the admin tool bar (click the tool in the top left corner) and view reports.
There's some documentation at https://community.openatrium.com/documentation-en/notebook
I don't expect to have much time to do anything with the site until after the conference, but thought it would be good to get it working so you can start poking at it. I heard about Open Atrium at the NTEN conference, and Justis Peters recently mentioned it. It's version 6.x-1.0-alpha4 -- in other words, very new.
