I have become a member of American Atheists, American Humanists, FFRF, Americans United and others over the last 6-8 years and have become aware that admitted unbelievers amount to 15-20% of the population. I'm sure that at least 15% more don't or can't admit what they believe. Given that Atheists are the most reviled segment of the citizenry, we need to get organized and let our numbers be known, and allow people to realize that we are normal, average (OK, mybe a little higher IQs) people who aren't afraid to admit that we suffer from a lack of superstitution and gullibility. I met some of the organizers and members at the July meetup and I too like to eat, drink and be merry.
