Meetup update from Mary Ellen and Tim

Dear NFP Meetup group members,

We have sure enjoyed meeting so many of you at the October meetups.  We had 9 women and lots of kids honor the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary and play at the park, and 4 men met at Great Lakes for great conversation. Best of all, there were 14 families who went to the orchard for apple picking. It was a perfect day and lots of fun. We hope you looked at the photos and the comments posted for these activities.

November has great meetups too!  Please check these out and RSVP for them.  Nina and Kent have planned a date night with a dance lesson and fun and food. We are really looking forward to this and especially to getting such great couples together! Mitzi has planned a morning for moms. And the first meetup listed is an opportunity to give service and especially to teach your kids the value of giving service. We believe in the mission of Maggie’s Place and want to support it. Fall cleanup work is much more fun in someone else’s yard! We hope you will join us.

On the meetup site are a couple tabs you might not have noticed across the top. One is Files. We recently posted a very inspiring excerpt from an address Pope Benedict XVI gave to engaged couples. It is great reading.  Another tab is Discussions. This is a way to have some conversation between the meetup members.  We asked the question ‘What did you do with all those apples?’  One member’s reply asked for an apple crisp recipe. If you have a good one, please share!

Some couples have shared with us how happy they are to have met the others in the group. When you know you share some common ground, like commitment to marriage and faith, you can pass through the conversations about weather and the Browns quickly and get to more meaningful topics, like how do we serve God at our ordinary jobs or while changing diapers.  We thank each of you for sharing of yourselves to the others!

See you  soon,

Mary Ellen and Tim
