Hike the Ledges and Pine Grove Trails

This hike, located in the town of Boston Heights, is one of Cuyahoga Valley National Park's most interesting areas due to its spectacular sandstone ledges. It takes us to Ice Box Cave and Ritchie Ledges, Happy Days Visitor Center, and the Pine Grove Trail. There are several hills and steps to climb on this hike.

We will meet at the Happy Days Lodge Parking Lot off Rt 303 at 2:00 (follow the sign for the parking area which is across the street from the Lodge).

PLEASE NOTE - This parking lot is 2 miles EAST of Peninsula.  If you use GPS, make sure you enter 500 West 303 or you'll end up in Richfield (about 5 miles West of the parking lot).

Distance: 5 miles

Rating: Moderate

After the hike, we will be meeting at the Winking Lizard in downtown Peninsula at approximately 4:00 for food and spirits!

Any questions please call Donna at[masked]

*  As everyone is expected to hike at their own pace, it is highly recommended that you bring a printed copy of a map of the Ledges and Pine Grove trails to take with you.  The map can be found by clicking on the website below.

To Merrie's question: If you have a walking staff it would come in handle. The trail will probably be slippery.

With the hillds and slippery conditions, I think I will stay with Rosa and the less-steep hills. Nect time. Have fun.

This is my first meet up with the group. I'm worried I don't have the right footwear for a long hike in the snow. Any suggestions?

I am not an expert on this subject, but hiking boots and a pair of wool socks should suffice.
