Leisure Brecksville Hike - 3x3 3+ Mi. x 3MPH - See the Eagles in CVNP

We will leave promptly at 6:50 so that we finish the hike before sundown.

Join us for a relaxed pace 4 mile Hike by the Brecksville Nature Center/Harriet Keeler Memorial Picnic Pavilion, meeting in the parking lot Tuesday evening.  We will probably walk down to Station Road Bridge to see the Eagles & Eagle's nest.  Once at the RR Station - walk over the bridge into CVNP - and take a left on the TowPath.  We will then walk another 1/3 mile to view the nest (bring binoculars if you wish) . . then coming back - ending our hike on all purpose trail. We will hike rain or shine.   Additional event organizers are welcomed to assist with this hike.  Hike Rating: Pre-Intermediate due to hills, and uneven terrain.

Distance:   4 Miles, Optional mile add-on, for those wanting to increase Hiking endurance.  Those that are doing a leisure stroll/walk will have options to turn around and go back at 1-mile to 2-mile intervals - an event host will not be with those strolling at 2 mph.

Speed:      3 mph, 20 minutes per mile.

Bring binoculars if you'd like to see the Eagles (Mom & Dad) and eaglets.  They are on one side of the TowPath - and we are looking across from the other side as not to disturb their natural surroundings.

Dogs:        Leashed dogs are welcome.

Directions: From I-77 take Exit 149 (SR 82); east on SR 82 past Brecksville Rd. (SR 21) in Brecksville; right on Chippewa Creek Dr. at park entrance; continue past Meadows Dr. to parking area for Brecksville Nature Center, on right.  Covered Pavilion is on your left.

Afterward - 8:15 PM, Creekside Restaurant (Tuesday is discount wine night!)
8803 Brecksville Road (Route 21), Brecksville, OH 44141; (440)[masked]; We will meet in bar area - if bar area is full with the faster hikers (6:30PM group), we have Creekside Management support that they will give us the Party Room, Table in the Dining Room, and/or Outside Patio when it is warmer. From Shirley Harper, Owner of Creekside:  "Each Tuesday we anxiously look forward to "The Hikers" coming in to wine and dine at Creekside.  It has become somewhat of a ritual with our staff!  We value your patronage."

Cell: [masked] if needed

Hi All - We've got some great leasure hikers signed up already. I've updated the Tuesday Hike description to indicate that we will Hike down to the Eagles Nest area in CVNP. This will be about 4 miles RT Hike. However, based on last weeks vote, interest and stamina - we are going to try this solution to make everyone happy. There will be opt outs for those that want to do only 3 miles to the Station Road Bridge, and those that stroll will have the safety of the TowPath - yet can join us at the beginning of the Hike and do a leisure walk. Happy strolling, walking or hiking - just get out and do it. The next seven days are sunny and above 65 degrees. The flowers are starting to bloom.
