I hope that the list of folks "waiting" inspire you to do this again! I'd love to join you. I am an adult leader of BSA Sea Scout Ship 5520 (14-21 yr old co-ed kids interested in aquatics) and I'd love to know more than (or at least as much as..) the kids! We sail on Chippewa Lake (and canoe and kayak and a bit of skiing) so if there's ever any interest, we could host the same kind of event down here. We do that kind of thing for Scout troops all summer long, but I hang to the rear and do administrative stuff. I'd love to learn and become more proficient myself! Please keep me posted.

    Ahoy Mates and Mateys!
The Weather tomorrow is going to be great for learning to sail.. clear, no rain, light winds 4-9 mph, a bit cool about 70, so bring a big shirt & towels to dry off.. You're going in the water briefly doing some easy drills requiring you to walk out into water about 3-4 ft deep and get on and off the sailboat. So, water shoes can be nice, but bare feet are ok, too. It's a mucky bottom... Canvas tennis shoes work, too.
Make sure you have a life jacket! You cannot participate without one.. grrrrr!
I will bring snacks and drinks.... and we will seek a nearby place on the water for the after party!! So, bring a change of clothes. There is nice dry warm restroom facilities at the club for changing.
