Westlake, Ohio, Westlake, Oh
Description: This hike consists of two short loop trails. The first loop takes us around Bunns Lake. This is a good place to look for waterfowl. The second loop is the Cahoon Creek Loop Trail. This trail loops through a mixed bottomland forest along the creek. Pileated woodpeckers frequent this area, I will be leading this hike on crutches, thus this will be a slow hike and we will be stopping to smell the roses. This is the perfect hike for the absolute beginner and those of you nursing injuries or having disabilities of your own. I, for one, am sick of not being on the trails because of my injuries and I am starting these rehab hikes so that I can enjoy the many beautiful trails in Northeast Ohio despite my current physical condition. I hope some of you will decide to come out and join me.
