It is Halloween time and that means costumes and treats. Let's take our fur children on a pre-Halloween day hike around the beautiful Boston Run Trail. If you feel your dog can tolerate a costume, Halloween shirt or decorative accessory then show it off. Pet parents are more than welcome to join in the Halloween spirit as well.
Since it is fall, we will get to see the colored leaves, hear the sounds of the leaves crunch under our feet and breathe in that fall air.
Keep your fingers crossed so it will not rain (as tends to around Halloween).
Dress for the weather. Wear hiking boots or shoes with very good treads. Bring water for yourself and your dog.
This trail is 3.5 miles, about 2 hours and rated at moderate. This trail is a loop trail with an option of a short cut. Depending where we start we will be going down a hill and when we are ending we will be going up one of those hills. The rest of the trail is pretty flat, but the roots from trees do stick out everywhere and I am sure the leaf debris will cover those roots. You will have to watch your footing on this trail.
This will be a combined hike with the Tailwag-N-Trailblazers.
Boston Run Trail is located in the Happy Days Lodge parking lot. There are signs clearly posted that label The Happy Days Lodge. In Peninsula, you will continue on 303 east and go for about 2 miles past Akron-Peninsula Rd. Happy Days Lodge is on the left going east on 303.
