Underground Railroad | the group leaves at 6:00 PM sharp - rain or shine.. this is a 2 mile hike where you will place yourself in the role of a runaway slave. This dramatic and experiential program explores the triumphs and dangerous realities of the Underground Railroad - the route to hope and freedom for so many enslaved people. We will walk along a two-mile lantern led hike through the meadows and forests near Howe Meadow where you will encounter characters and scenarios that will bring the past to life. Your final destination is the train. It is here that you will discover your fate.
This is a truly great and relevant experience that you will remember for years to come!
