Beginner Brecksville Hike - 3x3 3+ Mi. x 3MPH

We will leave promptly at 6:45 PM.  We will begin our hike in/around the nature center and end on the APT - All Purpose Trail.  As always - hike at your own risk.

Join us for a relaxed pace 3 to 5.0 mile hike by the Brecksville Nature Center/Harriet Keeler Memorial Picnic Pavilion.

There will be Hiking OPT-Outs at 3 Miles, and the ability to continue on (up to 5.0 miles) for those - that are increasing their endurance.  No Hiker will be left behind - as long as you come to hike (not do a stroll).  We will meet in the parking lot Tuesday evening.  Depending upon muddy/slippery conditions - our round trip will be from the Nature Center Wildflower Overlook area, through the woods and down towards Station Road Bridge.

Rating:      Easier-Intermediate due to hills, and uneven terrain.

Distance:   3 Miles, Optional mile(s) add-on, for those wanting to increase endurance

Speed:      3 mph, 20 minutes per mile.

Dogs:        Leashed dogs are welcome - please keep them away from legs of other hikers.

This is a hike.  If you care for only a walk/stroll in the park, we assume the you will want to stay around the Nature Center as the trees and birds are amazing at this time of the year.  You are welcomed to begin with us. Please bring water.

Directions: From I-77 take Exit 149 (SR 82); east on SR 82 past Brecksville Rd. (SR 21) in Brecksville; right on Chippewa Creek Dr. at park entrance; continue past Meadows Dr. to parking area for Brecksville Nature Center, on right.

8:15 PM, Creekside Restaurant (Tuesday is discount wine night!).  This 6:45 3x3 hiking group does NOT have reservations.  Please respect the 6:30 group's standing-reservation & table - as they call in each week with a count of expected attendees.  We usually sit in the rear-right of the bar area - and (if crowded) Creekside will put us in the party room if the bar area is full.  Creekside:  8803 Brecksville Road (Route 21), Brecksville, OH 44141; (440)[masked];

Cell: [masked] if needed

    hi sandi welcome back! asthma still going on once in awhile, so ima thinking about doing that other hike thats an easy pace... i cant find it now, so maybe it was just a one time thing... but until ima sure i wont hold you guys up on your hike, i'm trying to do the easy ones first... going to that lakeshore park one tonight... they say you can ease your way along on that one, even stop to take pics! so, i'm hoping to see you at some point during the summer... hope you're well!

      Violet, check out the hikes on Wedn at the Rocky River Reservation. Rosa is a great leader and she has no problem going slower. I also have asthma and it has kicked my butt too. Hopefully you'll feel better with the warmer weather, but before all the pollen :)

    Hi Violet - this is the hike! I too was out reucuperating for awhile. So we are just getting back into the hike/swing of things. Within 2 months we will be picking up speed or distance and this will be considered a leisure hike, rather than a beginner hike (and perhaps going through the woods).
