Patriotic music played by the one and only Cleveland Orchestra, picnic, tasty food and alcoholic beverages (yes, we are allowed to bring our own), great company, awesome cannon blasts for the 1812 overture and spectacular fireworks in the summer sky... This is what Independence Day is all about!! (Just forget I am Japanese for a second, okay?) I have been so busy, I thought about skipping this concert, but it's just not 4th of July without this concert for me!! And I hope some of you feel the same out there!!! And if you have never experienced this awesome concert before, this is the year you start enjoying one of the most fabulous events Northeast Ohio has to offer!! The concert starts at 8 PM. You can also buy tickets at the gate, the day of the concert. Lawn ticket is $23 each. Bring food, drinks, chair, blanket, cards, whatever you would like to do outside on the lawn with spectacular music. Nature will be providing the amazing weather for us (if the weather man is right). PLEASE arrive as early as possible. Concert does not start until 8... HOWEVER, this is a very popular event and the lawn fills up VERY QUICKLY. If you come late or even close to 8, we may never find each other! :'( If you could shoot for getting to Blossom parking lot at 6:30-7:00, that would be great! By the time you get the ticket, settle down and crack open a beer, it'll be the perfect timing for the concert!! I will try to get there by 6 and hold some space for us with a blanket or two.
This is how we will find each other: I will give a phone number to all the attendees before the concert. After you get the ticket, you can call that number and I can come to meet you at a specific place (like in front of funnel cake stand etc...) then take you to "our space". Also, we can communicate using this page if you have a smart phone. I will be checking all the posts.
Here are the details on the concert: "Blossom Festival Band
Loras John Schissel, conductor
A Salute to America
Northeast Ohio’s favorite Independence Day concerts feature patriotic favorites from some of the country’s best-loved composers, including Gershwin and Sousa, topped off with the “1812” Overture and a spectacular fireworks display. "
