Buckeye Trail to Redlock and Back

This time we are going to start in Boston and take the Buckeye Trail to Redlock and them back the last two miles on the Tow Path.

There are two (or 3 or 4) sets of steep steps and hills; the streams maybe high, so you may get your feet wet. I expect the trail to be muddy/snowy, who knows.  I recommend water proof shoes. After about 6.2 miles at a moderate pace, you can take a break at Redlock parking lot (there is a toilet) and take your time walking the final 2 miles along the towpath, back to the Boston Store. The Buckeye trail is marked by the blue blazes so the trail is easy to follow.

There is a parking lot accross the street.

Dogs Welcome!

For those who are interested, we can have lunch somewhere.

Wendy[masked]

Distance: 8.2-mile loop, per the park service, but I think it's closer to 10 miles.

Difficulty: Moderate due to hills and pace

Hiking time: @ 3.0 hours

We did the Boston to Redlock to Boston on the Buckeye trail Sat., had a good showing. For anyone interested, those at the front completed it in approx. 2 hrs. and 20 min. at an average pace of appox. 3.5 mph. by my calc. A pretty good pace considering this is a very hilly terrain. As Wendy stated, the dist. was appox. 8.2 by the park service map. Thanks to all for the workout and comraderie on a fine day for Feb., and thanks to Wendy for setting it up and keeping the group on task.

Great job Wendy. Thanks again for a butt burning, hilly, muddy, muscle-twitching, gut wrenching hike. Just kidding. It was awesome!
